Extrait de Parfum, but a Solid Fragrance?

When it comes to the world of fine fragrances, there is a wide spectrum of concentrations available for every preference and occasion. From light and refreshing Eau Fraiche to the highly concentrated Extrait de Parfum, each concentration offers unique characteristics that cater to different tastes. At Fulton & Roark if our solid fragrances were alcohol-based they would fall into the Extrait de Parfum category. What does that mean? Let's take a closer look at the different fragrance concentrations:

The Concentrations of Fine Fragrance:

  1. Extrait de Parfum: With the highest concentration of perfume oil (20-40%), extrait de parfum boasts the most enduring and opulent scent experience.
  2. Eau de Parfum: Offering a more affordable yet long-lasting option, Eau de Parfum contains a concentration of 15-20% perfume oil.
  3. Eau de Toilette: Suitable for everyday wear, Eau de Toilette has a moderate concentration of 5-15% perfume oil.
  4. Eau de Cologne: A lighter and more refreshing choice, Eau de Cologne contains 2-5% perfume oil and is often used as an aftershave or for daytime wear.
  5. Eau Fraiche: The lightest of all, Eau Fraiche has a concentration of just 1-3% perfume oil and offers a limited longevity.

The Fulton & Roark Difference: Solid Fragrances

Traditional alcohol-based spray fragrances can be overpowering and are not always suitable for every occasion, especially travel. This is where solid fragrances come into play. Unlike spray fragrances, which can disperse and wear loudly, solid fragrances remain close to the skin, allowing for a more personal and discreet fragrance experience. Because of the intimate quality of solid fragrances, we do not skimp on dosage in order to maximize the longevity and sillage of our fragrances.

At Fulton & Roark, we use 25-35% fragrance concentrations in our solid fragrances, placing them in the luxurious Extrait de Parfum category. As an aside, many of you may know the Solid Fragrance category as "solid colognes," we moved away from the term "solid cologne" years ago as we recognized that cologne was not an accurate descriptor for our fragrances with their powerful dosage. For that reason, we no longer describe our products as "solid colognes".

This concentration level means you can enjoy a long-lasting and sophisticated scent without the need for constant reapplication. Furthermore, our solid fragrances are easy to carry and apply, making them a convenient choice for fragrance enthusiasts on the go.
